Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) was just notified that they have been awarded a research grant for $4,000 from Parker College of Chiropractic. The grant has been awarded in support of a study entitled “Effect of an integrative approach of Chiropractic and Traditional Chinese Medicine care on low back pain: A randomized controlled trial”. The primary investigator in the grant proposal is Mrs. Anupama Kizhakkeveettil with co-investigators Drs. Kevin Rose and Gena Kadar. In addition, clinicians from both the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic will be participating in the study.
“We are looking forward to working together to carry out this study in integrative health care during the next two years”, said Kizhakkeveettil.
Dr. Melea Fields, Chief Research Officer and Dean of the Office of Supported and Institutional Research (OSIR) at SCU remarked “I’m impressed with the initiative these faculty members took to obtain this grant. OSIR will continue to support all SCU faculty with grant and research opportunities.”
Dr. Todd Knudsen, Vice-President for Academic affairs added “I am very proud of our faculty who will participate in this study. We value being evidence-based and this integrative study is consistent with the integrative mission and vision of the university.”
