TRIO SSS Eligibility & Application


Who is Eligible?

  • Low-income and/or first-generation college students. (First-generation means neither parent obtained a Bachelor's Degree.)
  • Disabled students who are also low-income.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 semester units or completed a minimum of 9 semester units in the previous semester. (If you are an OSS student, you must be enrolled and/or completed a minimum of 6 units.)
  • Interested in obtaining an Associate degree and transferring to a four-year university.
  • Should have a GPA of 2.0 or higher if already attending college.
  • Must be educationally disadvantaged or have academic need, according to federal guidelines.

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis, but only admit students as space permits. Therefore, please be patient during the application process.

What Can I Expect in the Application Process?

  1. Submit Application materials.
  2. Expect an email from the TRIO SSS office that will explain your application status.
  3. If accepted, you will be be invited to an orientation appointment.
  4. After orientation, you will need to complete your first Counseling Appointment with a TRIO Counselor.
