Human Services

Human services is a multidisciplinary field focused on enhancing quality of life for individuals, families and communities through assessment, advocacy and resource coordination. Students develop skills in case management, community outreach, crisis intervention and program planning while studying areas such as housing instability, substance use, aging and disability services. These competencies prepare graduates for roles in nonprofit organizations, government agencies and healthcare settings as case managers, outreach specialists, program coordinators, policy analysts and peer support workers.

Certificate and Degree Pathways

Our certificate and degree pathways are carefully designed to prepare students for employment in various service sectors related to human services. Students can complete a certificate of achievement or pursue an AA in Human Services. These can be completed in less than 2 years or at a slower pace to accommodate your work or other life obligations. We offer day, evening, weekend, and online classes to meet the varied needs of our student population. Our dedicated advisors work with you to create personalized plans tailored to your professional goals and preferred careers.

Fieldwork Preparation

Our program is committed to providing our students with practical, hands-on experience through fieldwork internships in social work and human services. Our robust internship program allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, working alongside experienced professionals in diverse environments such as non-profits, government agencies, and healthcare organizations. These internships offer invaluable opportunities for students to develop their skills, gain insight into the challenges and rewards of the field, and build a professional network.
